Management Team Ken Grundy / Executive Director
Maestro! was founded by Ken Grundy in 1994 with the mission of providing focused travel and touring services to the performing arts community. Ken has an extensive background in the travel industry spanning more than 30 years. Prior to founding Maestro! he was responsible for the corporate travel accounts of such global giants as Shell Oil, ICI and Unilever, and later worked as a senior manager for American Express in Europe. His personal interest in opera and classical music led him to work with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, looking after their touring needs as they approached their 150th anniversary in 1992. This experience led to the formation of Maestro! and the company has grown steadily ever since. Over the past seventeen years, he has led the company from it's early days to the multi-million Pound turnover that it achieves today. He has focused the company towards providing state of the art customised travel and touring solutions for agencies such as CAMI, IMG, Arts Management Inc and Universal Music and a diverse mix of internationally celebrated artists, orchestras, dance and opera companies including Sting, Valery Gergiev, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Cecilia Bartoli, Mariinsky Orchestra & Chorus, Vienna Philharmonic, China Philharmonic, Soweto Gospel Choir and Kodo.
Elizabeth Pierce / Director & Company Secretary
Liz Pierce is a graduate of Leeds University and has held managerial posts with both industry and govermnent bodies. As Company Secretary she is involved in all aspects of the business and has particular responsibility for corporate governance and compliance.
Leanne Donlevy / Director of Touring Services
Leanne joined Maestro! in 2001 from a background in the legal profession. Her outstanding organisational & negotiating skills are a great addition to the Maestro team. Leanne was made a Director of the company in 2006 and has primary responsibility for the overall management of 'Tour Manager' and the negotiation with hotels and other suppliers for our client touring needs. In June 2007 'Miss Evans' became Mrs Donlevy!
Ann Woodruff / Director of Production
Ann Woodruff has an extensive background in business management and more than twenty year's experience working as Company Tour Manager, supervising U.S. tours for many internationally renowned ensembles, including the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Mariinsky Orchestra & Chorus, and Orchestre National de France. Ann has also handled complete production of U.S. tours for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Palast Orchester, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, and Camerata Salzburg. Ann is based in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Nigel Foo / General Manager
Nigel has been with the company from the outset in 1994 and has an extensive background in the aviation side of the travel business. He is responsible for the day to day operations within the office and also for the sourcing and negotiation of our airline, charter and other aviation based contracts.
Stacey Friend / Tour Services Specialist
Stacey joined the Maestro! team in February 2008 after graduating in Geography from Liverpool Hope University. Her area of responsibility has covered hotel & tour contracting, web-site maintainance and ATOL compliance management. Stacey is now responsible for the day to day operational aspects of the Maestro Music & Arts Tours programme
Renee O'Banks / Tour Manager - North America
Renee has worked with Maestro as a freelance Tour Manager for more than ten years. Her experience covers the whole range of production needs from hotel advance, stage & technical management to company management. She has worked for orchestras and projects including London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Mozarteum Salzburg, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Mariinsky Orchestra and Opera, Bruckner Orchester Linz, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Cecilia Bartoli on tour and China Philharmonic
Jim Uline / Tour Manager - North America
Jim Uline works with several of our orchestral tour projects and attractions as both Company and Stage Manager. Jim comes from a dance background and has wide experience with production and staging. His most recent tours include the Cape Philharrmonic, China Philharmonic and Bruckner Orchester Linz. In 2010 he was company manager for the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra when they accompanied Sting on his 'Symphonicities' tour covering more than 35 cities in North America.
